I have worked with vulnerable people with various support needs for over 20 years and predominately as a manager. My experience includes managing sheltered housing schemes and care homes for the elderly, supported housing for people with mental health needs, homeless services including hostels and day centres, as well as fundraising and caring for my elderly mother. I have worked with people of all ages who have a range of support needs such as learning difficulties, mental health, physical health and drug and alcohol use.
I am extremely passionate about working with people who are vulnerable or at a disadvantage with the goal of helping them to become more independent or at least have the best quality of life possible. I am highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and committed to working with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
Through my people management and organisational skills, I have led my teams through various processes of change, including decanting processes, the closure of old services, opening new services and restructuring. I have developed excellent organisational skills so that I am able to plan my time effectively, run the service, support clients and staff as well as meeting targets and contractual obligations
I have a proven track record of achievement in both my employment and academic studies. I have successfully improved team morale and performance, as well as meeting organisational and funding requirements. I have a passion for working with disadvantaged groups and have successfully enabled them to be more independent using Person Centred Planning.
I have successfully improved CQC grades from inadequate to requires improvement through auditing, trouble shooting, benchmarking, action planning and team working.
